So now that we have made our decision to move the family to Saint Anthony, we are in need of just a few small miracles! I don't know why my anxiety gets the best of me...it just does. I finally reached my breaking point and asked Joe to give me a priesthood blessing. I was strengthened, empowered, calm, and things just started falling into place almost immediately! Of course when I say "things falling into place" I actually mean that small and large miracles have started to happen!
The first hurdle was how Joe can actually get started. South Fremont is out of school on the 27th of May so all basketball camps and tournaments are scheduled for June. Unfortunately, Hamilton schools go till June 11th! We were trying to figure out how Joe could commute back and forth...and back and forth...and back and forth. He needs to hire assistants, meet the team, hold open gyms, coordinate tournament details, host a camp, and house hunt! Yeah, totally overwhelming given the time frame and the fact that the 79 Ford Pickup gets a whopping 8 miles per gallon! So small miracle #1: Joe contacted some longtime Hamilton friends who now live in Rexburg...the Derricotts. Tony and Tara are headed on vacation with their family for 3 weeks....the exact 3 weeks Joe needs to be there....and they have asked him to house-sit for them! And the heavens opened and smiled upon the Jessops!
Second hurdle was how we can keep our house at 130 Ormonde Court. How many jobs has Joe turned down in the last 3 years because our bank would not allow us to have renters? I've lost track. The housing market is not what it used to be. We started with an asking price of $312,000 and through the last 3 years we have dropped to $255,000! We can't go any lower because of what we owe the bank in payoff as well as the 30% they get once the house sells...not to mention closing costs, realtor fees, and oh yeah...us being able to pay off our credit card debt! We thought at first that we could just move Dan and Brenda in and maybe nobody would notice. However, we were just informed that 2 other couples on our same loan program are being prosecuted for fraud because of sneaking in renters! When has honesty ever steered us wrong? Never. So we decided to plead our cause to the bank one more time and hope for yet another miracle!
