Halfway Through the Season

We are halfway through South Fremont High School's Basketball Season. As to be expected, this is a "growing" year. The seniors on this team have had a different coach every year of their high school career so there has not been much consistency. It always takes a while for all players to get on the same page with a new coach. New offenses are taught and different strategies are implemented as the coach gets to know his team better.
We have only won 2 games and it is halfway through the season! However, Coach Jessop's philosophy is "Winning is an attitude, not a score". He took the team to the nursing home to read Christmas stories over the Christmas Break. He is teaching hard work, commitment, desire, and that there is more to life than just basketball. The scoreboard has no way of reflecting these things! However, in the words of Nacho Libre, "I want to weeeeen!" Ah, if only they gave points for defense! We have an awesome defensive team!
FYI: Will is one of the managers and takes his job really serious. He dresses in Sunday clothes and even suspenders! Jansen and Joe have developed a great relationship and have been able to differentiate between father/son and coach/player. Now that we are halfway done, Coach made the decision to move Jansen to fulltime Varsity. Jansen's JV team will definitely miss him but he will be a bigger asset to the varsity squad right now.
