Ice Blocking

Julie went through so much work to prepare ice blocks complete with pull ropes frozen into them. For this reason, it seemed a shame for such a fun activity to be so short lived. The youth in my parents ward had done iceblocking as a youth activity a few weeks earlier so we thought we would give it a try.


The concept is simple...put towel on block of ice, sit on said towel, slide down the hill. Doesn't sound too tricky does it?


Well, what happens to you and the chunk of ice when you wipe out??? Yeah, you pretty much get smashed by a cement-like object! The kids got hurt pretty fast so it kind of lost it's appeal. Multiply that by the extreme heat, the huge hill you had to drag the ice block back up, and you can see why wel didn't last long. I felt bad that Julie had prepared all those ice blocks but we did get a few good pics.
