covering the color

Black covers the color of what lies underneath.

Black overpowers all color,
But for now black is all I see,
Black covers the colors.

What you may not know though....
is under my black, I have majestic purple polish.

It might not matter to you
but just knowing the color is under there
somewhere
makes me ...happy:)

You can't see the purple through the black
but I know it's there...
just hiding
waiting to be re-discovered.

When the sun comes out again...
I will wear sandals
And then you will see...
I am more than I seem.

I will take off the black and run through fields of green in my purple...
It's just covered by black right now.
Someday I will let you see
what I know is there
and you
will smile too!
