Luke 1:46-47 is also known as the Magnificat: "And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord, And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour." Today as I was reading an article written by Gaye Starthearn (Associate Professor of Religion at BYU) I gained even more of an appreciation for Mary, the mother of Jesus. Strathearn asks, "As modern disciples, what will our Magnificat be? How will we express our rejoicing in our God? How will we express the magnificence of His mercy in our lives?" My other insight gleaned from this article is that Christ's disciples have always been asked to do hard things but just as Mary, we get to choose to do them joyfully ☺️
